Outdoor Family Camping RSS

Once again we were off to Green Farm Kent to enjoy a week of camping in the late summer sun. This year, our mission was to grow a Gratitude Tree - with deep roots, intertwining underground with neighbouring trees, nourished by good food and plenty of water, and with a thousand thanks for leaves!

We're gearing up for our 2024 Outdoor Family Camping trip and we need your help! We're looking for volunteers to join us in making these trips a success...

In 2022 we had two glorious weeks camping in a glorious woodland in Kent. These weeks were perfectly formed for our families to spread their camping wings...

This year we are running Volunteer Weekends at Green Farm Kent for training and preparation for our Family Camping trips over the summer! Our first Volunteer Weekend will be on the 23rd - 24th of April. 

There will be training and activities on both Saturday and Sunday, with a shared campfire dinner on the Saturday evening. Sessions will end by 4pm on Sunday, giving you plenty of time to get home. We ask you bring your own snacks and food for breakfast and lunch.

We are excited to launch our Outdoor Families 2021 programme!

Outdoor Families is a journey together, in community. We go on adventures, led by our children, through the greenery in our neighbourhoods. We explore our local parks and meet our local trees and resident foxes, birds and neighbours.

Our Wild Walks and Family Camping trips have been redesigned and tested over the last year to ensure we are still able to gather in nature safely, following the most up-to-date Coronavirus guidelines. We are preparing for family camping trips in the Easter, May Half Term and Summer school holidays, so we’ll be ready to go camping when national restrictions permit. Of course, we can’t predict the future and as such remain flexible and able to change our plans if necessary.
