Work with us!
Whether you are looking for your first exciting Social Enterprise role, want to volunteer or are offering to work with our board, if you have passion, skills and drive to work in a small team making a real difference, we want to hear from you.
All posts ask for
- a CV (tailored to the Job Description) and
- a covering letter telling us why you would be great for the job.
We don't need perfection, but a love of the outdoors and a strong willingness to learn is the basic requirement!
We expect you to have done your research on us and that you recognise we are a small social enterprise. That means you'll get to work across far more areas than in a big firm, and have more opportunities to have a go at many roles, but also we all need to muck in so everyone covers the shop sometimes and helps at Family Camping.
It also means we might take a while to respond to enquiries - we are recruiting because we are BUSY!

Seeking new Board Members to help make it easy to get outdoors!
Now that we are ten years old, we are looking for new Board members to help us increase our impact in our shops, our projects, and the schools we support.
We are looking for people with diverse skills and experiences, including
- Adults who have joined our camps or walks (or would have liked to);
- Young people who love getting outdoors themselves
- Primary school leaders who love play - and want children to play out beyond school too
- Retail experts who can help the outdoor community shop and outdoor schools shop succeed
Any knowledge of marketing, finance, HR or other small business skills a plus, but fundamentally you should believe in our mission.
As a Board Member, you'll commit approximately four hours every three months, with opportunities for further involvement. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and offer full induction and training.
Join us in our mission to inspire outdoor exploration and make a positive impact on our community!

Outdoor People: Play in Schools (OPAL) and Community Mentor (London)
Can you inspire schools and communities to make outdoor play important?
Can you coach and train headteachers and staff in schools to put children’s play front and centre? On the same footing as Maths and Safeguarding?
We are seeking an amazing, impactful and self-motivated OPAL mentor who can coach, support and - when needed - challenge senior leaders and lunch time staff in schools to make playtime every day amazing.
Beyond that you should inspire the schools to let children take ownership of their playgrounds - and then further inspire their parents to get outdoors every day...
If you are looking for a dynamic role with great job satisfaction - and work life balance - then get in touch. And if you can help us increase sales and turnover, pay and benefits will reflect that. AND you know you are helping thousands of children get outdoors to play every day.
