Exped

Swiss company Exped is one we've been aware of for years but recently they sprang to prominence after our CEO Cath joined the She is Outdoors jury for great outdoors gear for women. The new Exped mats - expected in 2022 - won the sustainability award with supreme ease. Not only had they considered every aspect of this new product for sustainability, it became clear that sustainable practice was built into the DNA of the company.

Both performance and sustainability credentials are data-driven. They are committed to moving to fully recycled main ingredient materials, to using no plastic packaging across their ranges, using less energy and water in manufacture and as a company Exped invest in C02 compensation for the whole product supply chain from manufacturer to retailer. 

Wow. 

Starting in the early 80's as a distributor of other outdoor brands, Exped began to build their own gear in 1997. Since then they have created many highly innovative products and won many awards for their unique designs.
