Sandpit Service
In response to a story issued by the National Association of Headteachers about contamination of play sand, we’d like to reassure anyone who has bought certified play sand through the Outdoor People Sandpit Service that the sand we provide is sourced within the UK: it is not imported.
We are drafting a statement together with our supplier for schools to use if the matter is raised by staff or concerned parents.
From our understanding of the products listed on gov.uk the issue relates principally to children’s coloured play sand and craft kits. We’d encourage all schools to check guidance issued from the UK government related to specific products being recalled.
We will be following the development of this story closely and will provide additional updates if new information comes to light.

A lorry tyre or similar if you order over 10 tonnes, great to make a mini sandpit that can be placed anywhere on your site (subject to availability).
