Join us for a springtime walk, play and picnic! We'll start at the adventure playground on Clapton Common, then weave through Springfield park and down to the River Lea. After a picnic stop, we'll explore the wild Walthamstow marshes on the other side of the river. The walk will finish at Millfields Park near Lea Bridge Road. The walk will be about 3km long with stops to play and explore, perfect for 3-7 year olds. Including a picnic stop, this walk will take 2-3 hours.
Meet at the adventure park Clapton Common at 11am on Sunday 3rd March.
This is my favourite part of London. There's natural play structures, hills, woodland, adventure parks, the river and endless marshland. There's more nature than city!
Transport: Clapton Common is serviced by a number of bus routes from around Hackney and is a 5-minute bus ride or 15-minute walk from Stamford Hill or Clapton Overground Stations. The walk will end at Millfields Park, which is serviced by bus routes along Lea Bridge Road or is a 10 minute walk to Clapton Station.
We'll have some picnic goodies with us, but please bring your own lunch too! Remember bring water and warm and waterproof clothing. We have a supply of children's waterproof clothing provided by Muddy Puddles available, get in touch with us if your child does not have waterproofs.
We have limited numbers, so please RSVP to beth@outdoorpeople.org.uk to reserve a spot for you and your family. Given the limited space, please do let us know if your circumstances change and you are unable to join us. Please also provide us with a contact number (in case you can't find us) and any special needs or dietary requirements.
PS we are raising funds to have wellies, wet weather gear and waterproof maps here.
