Singing With Nightingales 2019, Camping under the Stars

We are very excited to announce that once again this Spring Outdoor People are teaming up with Sam Lee’s Nest Collective and Green Farm Kent at this year's Singing With Nightingales to offer concert-goers a camping treat.
Universal feedback from 2018:

"WONDERFUL" - the warm welcome, the nighttime cocoa, the crisp linen, the cosy duvets, the morning woodland walk... And the campfire breakfast!”

This night is a spellbinding mix of fireside folk music celebrating the lyrical magic of the nightingale... a unique chance to enjoy birdsong and folklore deep in one of England’s most beautiful woodland spots.
There is a magical line up of talent over two weekends, at the beginning of April and towards the end of May. This year the line up includes Japanese flautists, traditional folk singers and blues guitarists... something for every taste and every evening a joy.

"If you have never heard a nightingale before this will bring magic into your life" – Alan Davey (Controller, BBC Radio 3)

As the event finishes late, around 12-1am, we’re offering a special camping experience, so you can fall asleep listening to the night and put off that jarring return to the modern world. The camping experience includes late night cocoa or herbal tea and the option of a morning woodland walk, with a delicious breakfast cooked over a roaring fire.

Tent hire costs £80 for two people or £100 for four people and includes:
  • A classic 3 person Vango Force Ten canvas tent or Vango Mambo tent (for couples) or
  • A Vango Wilmslow Family Tent (which has two private rooms)
  • Thick sleeping mat and a pillow for each guest, plus a solar powered lamp;
  • Morning woodland walks (optional if you want to sleep in!);
  • A chance to listen to the dawn chorus, and if we are lucky a nightingale as you go to sleep
  • plus a delicious breakfast cooked over a roaring fire.

 A limited number of sleeping packs (duvet and sleeping bag) are available for a supplement of £10pp. You are also welcome to bring your own duvets, sleeping bags and blankets.

The campsite is in a nearby field next to lambs, has a hot shower and toilet nearby and is just a four-minute walk from the woodland concert site. There's a kitchen hut and shelters if it's raining at breakfast time.

Last year we hosted over 30 peeps who all shared what a lovely time was had...
