Join a Family Wild Walk in Hackney!
A small adventure for kids to take their families on, exploring the forgotten wild places, play spaces and green patches our backyard here in Hackney has to offer...
We are leading three Family Wild Walks as part of the London National Park City Festival!
These walks will start at
Outdoor People in Netil Market, 13 - 26 Westgate St, E8 3RL at 10am on Sunday 21st July
Dalston’s Iceland store in Kingsland Shopping Centre at 4pm on Monday 22nd July.
Shoreditch Iceland store, 209/233 Hoxton St, London N1 5LG at 11:30am on Wednesday 24th July
Hackney Central/Well St Iceland store, 150 Mare St, London E8 3SG, on the corner of Mare St and Well St at 2:30pm on Friday 26th July
We will help your family discover local green patches nearby, spot the species of birds and butterflies, the plants and trees and the places to play and explore. It’s a chance to meet other families, make new friends and discover how wild our borough really is…
Outdoor People lead Wild Walks every month and we'd love you to join us. One mum recently said:
“I would never have done anything like this with the kids… We now go on little walks, on little hunts for things, and the kids are picking up sticks and leaves that we have to keep at home! So, we’re all in touch with nature now.”
Don't forget to bring water, a small snack and weather-appropriate and waterproof clothing (suncream if it's hot!)! We have a supply of children's waterproof clothing provided by Muddy Puddles and a few adult jackets too, get in touch with us if you need either. Don’t let the lovely British weather stop us having fun!!

This particular Family Wild Walk is supported by Semble, we’ll be sharing more about why soon… It is also part of the special celebration to launch London becoming the world’s first National Park City and will include a very special Mini Opening Ceremony!
