Steel Tiffins

Traditional Indian tiffins are the perfect way to carry lunch or picnics. I use mine weekly to pick up dinner from Broadway Market (Check out my Instagram for what I had last week!).

The term 'tiffin' is used in parts of Britain and India to mean a light meal or snack. In some areas, the word specifically refers to lunches brought to work or school. The square and oblong tins are just right for a snack or light meal or for  getting street-food at festivals and food markets, saving that little bit more of waste and rubbish.

Outdoor People get our tiffins from Kairaasi, another Hackney-based social enterprise who reinvest profits in employment projects in India where these tiffins are made and hand-finished.

They are safe to use on the stove top, in the oven, and even over your woodgas stove!

And they starred in a rather lovely film recently...
