We love hammocks. I mean really love hammocks. We sit around talking about hammocks, knots for hammocks, the best kind of tarps and (especially in winter) the joys of under blankets. All of Outdoor People staff and most of our volunteers agree the best night's sleep is in a hammock, and can be extra cosy snuggled with the dog. Seriously. So after several years searching, testing extensively in parks in London and a wood in Dorset, in India, in Costa Rica, in Japan and in a very snowy Canada, we think we've curated some of the best hammocks available in the UK for taking on a hike, snoozing on holiday or camping in the woods.

Use the discount code Hang on checkout to take £5 off straps when bought with a hammock!! Use the discount HammockCamper if you are putting together more than 3 items from this collection worth more than £100 to take yourself (or a friend) camping in a hammock.

We want you to try hammock camping that much.

Two disclaimers. We believe in taking risks and living life to the full, but that also means avoiding hazards. So dsouble check all your ropes, the trees/rocks/poles/cars that you are attaching your hammock to. everything should hapily take twice your body weight at least, so it won't budge when you turn over - or are joined by a friend. And children should always be overseen by an adult. Its very rare we say that, but the temptation to swing friends very high in hammocks is very, very tempting for children of a certain disposition. many hammocks won't cope with that. The OneMade is probably the strongest... but it is NOT designed as a swing. If you want connections to swing manufacturers... contact Play England or the Assocation of Play Manufacturers. If you'd like a hammock.... look below.
