Reimagining Amhurst Road

Re-imagining Hackney's Amhurst Road and Central High Street

We want to make sure the new-look Amhurst Road is a greener, healthier, more PLAYFUL space ... so we're inviting families for a brief exploration around the area. This is a chance for children, young people, parents & carers to share their ideas to help create the public space they would like to see.

There will be snacks and drinks at the start and finish, and everyone joining will get some Hackney Wild Walks maps to take home.

We are particularly seeking children and their families who live within ten minutes walk of Amhurst Road, or who travel around here often to shop, to go to school or to visit. That said any Hackney resident is welcome - part of the purpose of the transformation will be to make this area a hub for residents.

You will definitely see central Hackney in a whole new light!

Details

Meet outside our Community Shop (on the Narrow-way, opposite Hackney Central Overground) and then we'll head out for about an hour. To keep us lively, snacks and (cold) drinks will be available at the start and end. Crayons and paper will be available in case anyone wants to draw their ideas instead of or as well as talking about them.

We will be recording this walk and taking some pictures to illustrate our report to the council. We will let all participants know the outcomes! We will only share images where we have full permission.
