Wild Walks – ‘adventures for children to take their adults on’ – are short walks with lots of adventure and discovery for children of all ages and their adults.
Everyone is welcome!
Thanks to Hackney Council’s funding these Hackney Central walks are free for all, all we ask is you pay it forward by taking a friend for a walk in the future!
If you would like to join any of our Wild Walks please email community@outdoorpeople.org.uk and we will book you and your family in.

Hackney Central Wild Walk - monthly on Saturdays
We’ll choose one of three routes depending on number and ages of the children attending. All take about 1-2 hours (depending on how long we play!), and include:
- exploring a local green space
- introducing the local playgrounds near Mare St (there are some lovely ones!)
- seeing fossils, ancient monuments, Turner Prize nominated art work and lots of nature.
They are wheelchair and buggy accessible, friendly and fun. There are toilets and water available, and nearby cafes and shops to get snacks.
Every child that comes gets a free map so you can take your friends on another time, and you can pick up copies of our other maps to go on adventures further afield.
Come along: Let us know by emailing community@outdoorpeople.org.uk with children’s names, ages and any special needs
